Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies

Ingredients

Chocolate batter:

7 oz. chocolate chips
10 tablespoons butter
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs + one yolk
2/3 cup flour
pinch of salt

Peanut Butter batter:

7 oz. peanut butter chips
10 tablespoons butter
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs + one yolk
2/3 cup flour
pinch of salt

Method

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan lightly.

For the chocolate batter: Melt the butter and the chocolate chips in a bowl, stirring as it melts. Beat sugar, vanilla, and chocolate mixture in  a medium bowl until combined. Add eggs and yolk and beat well. Add flour and salt. Mix well.

For the peanut butter batter: Melt the butter and the peanut butter chips in a bowl, stirring as it melts. Beat sugar, vanilla, and peanut butter mixture in a medium bowl until combined. Add eggs and yolk and beat well. Add flour and salt. Mix well. NOTE: The peanut butter batter is always a little bit thicker than the chocolate batter, so don’t worry if it’s harder to stir.

Tip both mixtures into one pan. Take a butter knife or a fork and swirl the batters. Bake in the oven for about 35 minutes, or until a  toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool.

VARIATIONS: You can also do this with white chocolate, butterscotch, or cinnamon chips. Just substitute them for the peanut butter chips in the recipe.
